Its product range for dogs, cats, rodents, birds and fish ranges from toys and snacks to accessories and grooming items. Beeztees products are sold in 55 countries and its customers include major retailers such as Intratuin, Welkoop and Groenrijk.

Beeztees is growing fast, but technological innovation was necessary to stay future-proof. Ctac helped Beeztees convert from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA, a modern ERP system that matches the organisation’s ambitions.

From old to new without customers noticing

“The pet market is growing every year,” says Beeztees owner Job van Riel. “As a major player in the industry, we naturally want to keep on top of that growth. For that, you need a good operating ERP system.” That’s exactly where Beeztees’ pain was. “We were using a severely outdated ERP system, which did not offer sufficient options for interfacing with third-party software. The system was getting in the way of further innovation and efficiency. That was the reason for us to choose a new, future-proof ERP platform.”

A key challenge here was that work processes had to continue seamlessly. “Customers should not notice anything about our conversion. That was objective number one,” says Van Riel

Seamless conversion to SAP S/4HANA

Beeztees chose SAP S/4HANA. Van Riel: “We are an SME company with around 200 employees. For us, it was a logical choice to work with SAP. A reputable party like SAP gives us a good foundation, with innovation on the front end and peace of mind on the system level.”

The benefits are immediate. Van de Ven: “The basis of SAP S/4HANA, the database, is very different from SAP ECC. As a result, you can call up information much faster. So our employees experience a faster system. The platform is also built so that communication with third-party software is much smoother.”

“We are now running on a state-of-the-art platform,” adds Van Riel. “And more importantly, within the platform we have room for innovation. That provides a great foundation for the future. We really are futureproof.”

“The great thing is that our customers and end-users didn’t notice anything about the conversion,” Van Riel says with satisfaction. “For us it was a huge project in the background, but for them it was continuously ‘business as usual’. That was very important. It was a very successful go-live.”

1.000 new products

Beeztees renews its range every year with more than 1,000 new items.

“Ctac has been a fixture here for years”

For Beeztees, Ctac was the obvious partner for the implementation of SAP S/4HANA. Particularly because both parties have been working together to their full satisfaction for years. “I have known Ctac’s consultants for fourteen years,” says process manager Pascal van de Ven of Beeztees. “All the developments we’ve gone through since then, we went through together. Ctac is right at home here.”

Van Riel: “In such an implementation, all the pieces of the puzzle have to fall into place. It’s a whole technical exercise on which we, as a customer, don’t have too much influence. You have to rely on Ctac’s expertise. Ctac’s consultants know our business processes through and through. That’s very nice.” The conversion went silently and smoothly. “Ctac’s consultants were working until the middle of the night to get all the data into the new system,” says Van Riel. “And our customers and end users didn’t notice a thing.”

Successful conversion thanks to Ctac

“During an implementation, all the pieces of the puzzle have to fall into place. Then it’s nice to have consultants from Ctac who know your business processes through and through.”
